MCEGold 2.2 for Versions Prior to 2.1.5

NOTE: If you are a network user do not use this online download. Contact PdMA Technical support at 813-621-6463 ext. 251.

Minimum Requirements: Windows XP (SP2) or Vista

• This is a full installation, therefore the previous MCEGold version and Microsoft SQL Server Desktop Engine (MCEGold) files must be uninstalled (see Step 2).

• You will need your CD License Key and the Module Activation Key.

• Due to diverse computer operating systems and browser versions, the installation may not proceed exactly as described below and some required responses may be slightly different.

Installation Instructions

1. Print these instructions.
   
2. Copy the MCEcal.xml and EMAXcal.xml files and Templates folder to a safe location. The files are located in: C:\Program Files\PdMA Corporation\MCEGold\Mce, C:\Program Files\PdMA Corporation\MCEGold\Emax, and C:\Program Files\PdMA Corporation\MCEGold\Report.
3. Turn off MSDE.
   • The SQL Server Service Manager icon is located in the System Tray at the bottom of the computer window.
   • Double click the SQL Server Service Manager icon.
   • When the SQL Service Manager window opens, click the Stop button.
   • Close the SQL Server Service Manager window.
     
4. Using the Add or Remove program (Start, Control Panel, Add or Remove Programs) on your computer, uninstall MCEGold and Microsoft SQL Server Desktop Engine (MCEGold).
5. Close all open programs before beginning the installation.
6. Click the MCEGold 2.2  button located at the bottom of these instructions.
7. In the File Download - Security Warning window, click Save
8. Select a location from the drop down list to save the file, click Save.
9. Verify the box preceding "Close this dialog box ..." is checked.
10. The download progress will display in the window. NOTE: Depending on your Internet/network server connection this may take some time.
11. When the download is complete the window closes. Close your internet connection.
12. Locate the 2.2.0_with_sp1.exe and double click the icon.
13. In the Open File window click Run.
14. In the WinZip Self-Extractor window, browse to select a location to unzip the file and make a note of it. Click Unzip.
15. When the files are unzipped, click OK in the WinZip Self-Extractor window.
16. The InstallShield wizard window briefly appears.
17. In the License Agreement window select "I accept." Click Next. Note: Not accepting the license will abort the installation.
18. In the License Key window, enter your company name and CD key. Click Submit.
19. Click Next.
20. The default installation location is C:\Program Files\PdMA Corporation\MCEGold. If you wish to change the location, use the drop down list. Click Next.
21. MCEGold installs automatically.
22. Follow on screen prompts to restart your computer and update the settings.
23. MCEGold starts automatically and opens the Utility Program. In the Utility Program you may perform various tasks.
24. If you have a Module Activation Key, click License Key.
25. Enter your Module Activation Key number and click Submit.
26. Click Exit.
27. Copy the backup MCEcal.xml and EMAXcal.xml files and Templates folder back into their appropriate locations in C:\Program Files PdMA Corporation\MCEGold. Answer Yes to the "OK to overwrite existing folder" inquiry.
28. Start MCEGold (Start, All Programs, PdMA Corporation, MCEGold)
